GMDF Awards Night

It is with great pleasue, I am pleased to announce that Sylvia was awarded the Laurence Roberts Trophy at the annual GMDF awards.
This was the Board's award for Outstanding Contribution to Drama by an individual and so richly deserved. Sylvia has played for the society for 59 years both as the rehearsal accompanist and with the orchestra in our shows and concerts.
Congratulations Sylvia, you deserve it.

GMDF Nominations

Two of our members have been nominated for GMDF awards.
Debbie Thew and Martin Bradbury have been nominated for best actress and best actor in last autumn's production 'Jekyll & Hyde - The Musical'.

A Thousand Thank You's
Saddleworth Musical Society presents a cheque for £1000.00 to Dr. Kershaw's Hospice

December 11th 2016 saw Saddleworth Musical Society perform their annual Christmas concert, featuring the children of Diggle school choir. This annual performance raises monies for selected charities which this year was Dr. Kershaw's Hospice.
The total sum raised was £1000.00 and here we see Gerard Marsden from Saddleworth Musical Society present the cheque to Joanne Sloan from Dr. Kershaw's, ably assisted by Thomas Wallace, Grace Wallace, Martha King and Toby King from Diggle school.

Saddleworth Musical Society Nominated For Three NODA Awards

We have been nominated for three NODA, The National Operatic and Dramatic Association, awards:
Harry Butterworth, for best musical director (Jekyll & Hyde).
Martin Bradbury, for best male lead (Jekyll & Hyde).
Saddleworth Musical Society, for best concert (The Christmas Concert).
Congratulations to all nominees, that's pretty much everyone then, and all of the people who help and assist in the background without whom none of this would happen in the first place.
